How To Buy on GoCollect

Any seller who has met our guidelines for selling items on GoCollect has the ability to list items for sale here. Only items that reside within our collection archives can be listed for sale, and therefore purchased from other collectors. You can locate sale items by searching for "Items For Sale" from the "Search Within" drop box at the top of any collection's search bar. That type of search will show all archived items that have at least one sale listing attached to them. Click to view the archived item's details. In the middle of that screen you will see tabs for different display areas for that item. Under the For Sale tab you will find a list of collectors who are offering that item for sale, along with some details about the condition and price of the sale listing. As a side note, there is another form of making a purchase from another collector. That would be a cash-for-items trade offer. Learn more about trading here.

Before you can buy a sale item:

1. You need to hold an active GoCollect account.
2. You must be able to receive shipped items via a U.S. shipping address.
3. You need to have a PayPal account.
4. You need to store and verify your PayPal email address.
5. You need to store at least one shipping address.

Our Rules for Buying & Selling:

GoCollect Selling Fees

It is free to list items for sale on GoCollect. If your listed item sells you will be charged a sale fee, which is the greater of $0.50 or 1% of the purchase price. The sale fee will be automatically deducted from your purchase price (by PayPal) at the time the purchase is made.

Current GoCollect Shipping & Payment Rules

1. Only U.S. residents can buy and sell items on GoCollect. All shipping addresses must be located within the United States.
2. The seller must pre-determine the shipping carrier, method and insurance details.
3. The seller cannot provide shipping options for the buyer.
4. All transactions will be made using PayPal. Therefore all buyers and sellers will need a PayPal account.

Why are these rules so restrictive?

GoCollect is currently in a Beta phase. During this time we are trying to keep things as simple as possible. As we evolve we will certainly expand options for both buyers and sellers. However, enforcing these restrictions allows us to ensure the highest quality buyers and sellers are performing the most secure and trustworthy transactions possible.
